I, like you, had long been a Dell fan. But when I had a problem with a system that was obviously a hardware issue and they flat our refused to fix or even call me back, I decided I would never buy another Dell system. I work on computers for friends and family all the time. And they all come to me for recommendations on what to buy. I’d say that Dell has lost at least 10 computer sales because of their lousy support. 10 sales to them is like a single grain of sand on the beach. But if they support all their customers like this I’m sure that number of lost sales is quite a bit higher.

I gotta start screening bikes again.. the Aurora’s way too high-end for me (I’m just starting to think about riding again and I haven’t ridden in over 10 years). I’ll probably just have to go down to the Seattle REI and let them sell me something.

Congrats! Considered posting it to sourceforge? There’s the XML Resume Library out there (uses DTDs), but AFAIK, nothing open source that uses schemas.

On a separate note, I bought the 2008 Jamis Aurora a couple of weeks ago and have been pretty happy with it. Solid shifting (never owned STI before), smooth ride, two rack eyelets on the rear–mighty nice for using both fenders and a rear rack (which I do during the workweek).
